In Vancouver Canada, the moss grows 25′ up the tree on all sides. Countless Boy Scouts and Girl Guides have been lost in the wilderness as a result. These flowers are currently occupying the north side of the back yard garden. This means they’re slated for removal when I get some time to glove up and go shoveling! So let’s enjoy them while they’re here. Faced with such a massive, mature flower garden as we are in our new place, we appeared to be spoiled for choice. However, after seriously considering sunlight strength and direction and duration, we’ve decided on the north side of the back yard for our vegetable garden. Vancouver had a very mild winter this time around, so we had a few unexpected survivors. My pots of green onions that I hadn’t harvested completely last fall seem to have pulled through and then some! Since we moved into this house on New Year’s Day of this year, I had no idea what to expect coming up from the soil! I still am not sure what lots of the plants are called, but I can tell the previous owners really loved their flowers.
